Why did you seek out a program(s) with The Glow Effect?
For a long time, I was living small while always sensing my potential was so much greater – deep thoughts, big ideas, powerful feelings. When I became a mother, I knew I didn’t want my daughter to live the same way, and the only way for that to happen was for me to become the woman I want her to be.
- Probable future if you didn’t get help?
I’d be constantly frustrated, depressed by feeling stuck, trapped by my circumstances. Still nagged by a sense of not being enough: not wise enough, brave enough, strong enough, outgoing enough, and on and on.
- Impact the program made on your life?
While brainstorming ideas for an important presentation recently, my colleague said, “You know what? Just be yourself; you’re so interesting!” And I had to laugh because I spent so many years keeping all my quirks and wild ideas hidden. Now, the same people I worked with for so long are like, “Where have you been?!” I’m serving others the way I’ve always wanted (and in some ways I never imagined). The life on the outside matches the life on the inside.
What were your doubts/objections prior to investment of time and money? How did you overcome doubts?
My intuition told me it was a worthwhile investment, but it was hard to logically justify it with myself, let alone my husband. We didn’t have that much cash to spare, so it meant adding on some debt – not an ideal situation. So I called a like-minded friend to get her opinion and encouragement and then talked it through with my husband. “How do you know this will work?” he asked. And I knew the answer: because I choose to make it work. The return on investment has been huge at a little over a year later.
What’s your dream and how are you living it right now?
My dream is to wake up every day feeling inspired and to go to bed each night feeling fulfilled. Having a clear sense of purpose, knowing what defines my integrity – those things make it easy to know how to act on my vision. By learning how to be unapologetically, courageously true to myself, I’m making a genuine impact on others, leaving a trail, and encountering more challenges and opportunities to do what makes me feel inspired and fulfilled. It’s not to say I feel happy every day; often, I feel deeply frustrated or deeply overwhelmed because the challenges are getting bigger and more demanding of my time and energy. And you know what? That’s okay: the point is I’m feeling – living – deeply. That’s fulfillment. That’s living the dream.
