“What does it mean to be a leader?” asks Bri Seeley, Author + Glow Ambassador
Over the last year I’ve been deep discussion with Saren, Founder of Glow Effect, about the perceptions of leadership. We’ve had conversation after conversation about influence vs. leadership, what true leadership means, and how we move away from the social validation model into a true, supportive #GiveGrowth model.

What I’ve come to learn about leadership is this: it doesn’t happen behind a screen.

Influence does not automatically equal leadership. Yes, there can be some overlap (I love a good Venn Diagram!) and the two are not synonymous. Every single person reading this is a leader, regardless of how many social followers you have or how big your email list is. Our culture doesn’t see it this way. But it’s true.

If your actions inspire another to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” -John Quincy Adams
Watch Saren and I chat more about this concept in our January 16 conversation:

This is an invitation for you to recognize how you are a leader within your home, community, workplace and more. Share below in the comments your thoughts on this, and be sure to join Saren and I in Los Angeles on February 8, 2018 at WeWork for a night of leadership development and #GiveGrowth.
